A little look back at our Back to School Night this Tuesday! 📚

Our campus was full of families, teachers, conversations, classroom visits, and all the excitement that comes with a new school year. We loved seeing everyone together, meeting our teachers, exploring the classrooms, and spending the evening as a community.

The school year is officially in full swing, and we’re so happy to be back together. 🩵✨

This is what makes CDA so special: our kids, families, teachers, and staff coming together, playing, laughing, and simply enjoying time as a community. A school is so much more than classrooms, and we’re incredibly lucky to have a community that truly shows up for one another.

We might just have to make this a tradition. ✨

Our school is celebrating 100 years, and we officially opened our Centennial Garden 🌿✨

With students, families, and staff gathered together, Principal Fang cut the ribbon to mark this special moment in CDA history. One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration was placing a time capsule into the garden, filled with items chosen by our 5th graders for future generations of CDA students to one day discover.

A beautiful way to honor our past, celebrate our present, and plant something for the future 💙

Our 2nd graders in Ms. Kwon’s class have been spending time in our new garden, planting seeds and learning firsthand how things grow. Getting their hands in the soil, asking questions, and seeing the process up close makes it all stick in a different way 🌱

We also had a visit from Star Science, where students explored the world of reptiles and learned about the world of nature through real, up-close experiences.

Ballet Folclórico do Brasil, presented by The Music Center of Los Angeles County, shared vibrant dances and music celebrating Brazil’s rich cultural traditions shaped by African, Portuguese, and Indigenous influences.
